Ks1 had a brilliant time on Tuesday with freshwater theatre. First they were reminded of what we like to do at the seaside today, then using a special magic suitcase they travelled to the seaside in 1970,1950 and 1910. They visited a butlins holiday camp in 1970 and had great fun watching the knobbly knees competition and watching grandad Jacob and grandma Sienna compete for the dancing prize. In the 1950's they searched for interesting shells and to the rock pools, rembering to wear handkerchiefs to protect themselves from the sun. In 1910 the boys and girls separated and the girls pretended to change in special bathing huts. They had lots of fun and learnt some really interesting things!

Go Bonkers
We all had a super time at Go Bonkers! There were so many different inflatables to try, it was difficult to choose which one to use first. The delicious ice cream and lollies helped to cool us down. We cannot wait for next year!
Le Petit Dejeuner
During 'International Week', Cedar Class has experienced a French breakfast. We learnt that French people normally have a light, sweet breakfast normally baguette with butter and jam. We tried different types of breakfast breads of baguette, croissant, brioche and pain au chocolate. We also had hot chocolate in a bowl, which was a little tricky to drink from. Some of us even tried dipping our baguette into the hot chocolate, which French people traditionally do. It was surprisingly tasty!
Sewing Club finished bags
Sewing club has finished for the summer term and the children have managed to finish sewing on their own designs on to their drawstring bags, just in time! Mrs Harding now just needs to sew the bags together with her sewing machine, so that anything that input inside stays safe inside. Three of the children have already been lucky enough to take their bags home and the others will go home before the summer holidays.
Cedar's Sport's Day
KS1 had a fantastic time competing at Sport's Day. All the teams tried their best, but Red Team proved to be too strong. Here are some of our photographs which show what a good time we had.

Clean Rubbish Needed
If you have any newpapers, milk bottles, empty boxes, plastic bags, shoe laces, old clothes or empty packaging please send them to Pine class. We are looking at life in Mumbai in India and will use the rubbish to help us experience a slum in Mumbai. Thank you!

Henna Hands
In Hindu festivals, many women have Henna applied to their hands and feet. Pine class designed their own Henna hands and used some very intricate designs.
Outdoor Festival
Rangoli Patterns
Yesterday we learnt that a Rangoli is a colourful design made on the floor near the entrance to houses in India to welcome guests. At Diwali, Hindus draw bright Rangoli to encourage the goddess Lakoshmi to enter their houses. We used flour and food dye to make out own Rangoli patterns outside, we made sure our designs were symmetrical.

Indian Food Tasting
Pine class are learning out about India during International Week. This morning we looked at life in a school in Mumbai. We learnt that each family sends a Dabawala (literally meaning box person) to bring freshly cooked food in a Tiffin to their child for lunch. The Dabawalas transport thousands of lunch boxes which are colour coded to schools and we were amazed hardly any get lost on the way! The children then sampled some Indian foods including popadoms and mango chutney, daahl and vegetable samosas.
