Beech class - Barleylands Trip

Well done to Beech Class for behaving so well at Barleylands.

The trip was to teach the children how food is grown on a farm and how we use it in everyday recipes. They children made homemade pizza, and made the dough from scratch! Needing the dough and then adding the toppings to make it delicious. We hope that they let you try a little piece!

After the pizza making, the children had time to explore the farm. They were able to feed the lambs and stroke the chicken. Next, we had a ride on the tractor, exploring the grounds of Barleylands. This was so much Fun and a very bumpy ride!

Finally, we had a lovely time playing in the park.

We would like to send a special thank you to Munsha, AJ, Callie and Millen's mum for being SUPER parent helpers. Also, a big Thank you for all the parents that paid for the trip!

Please enjoy the photos!

Finally, we had a lovely time playing in the park, and having a jump on the ginormous pillow. The children had a fantastic time taking their shoes of and running through the sand.

We would like to send a special thank you to Iustin, Alexandra, and Alice's mum for being SUPER parent helpers. Also, a big Thank you for all the parents that paid for the trip!

Year 1 - What we have been learning/Sports day

Another great week in year 1. Our children have really been working hard, even though we only have a few short weeks left

Sports Day!

Thank you to all the parents that attended our sports day on Monday. The children behaved fantastically and it was great to see that so many children were getting involved. It was very unfortunate that that the weather was not on out side but thankfully the children only had 2 races to go!

We really hoped you enjoyed cheering the children on!

Forest School
Walnut Class enjoyed Forest School this week, they used clay, stick and different materials to make small models.

Literacy
To help the children prepare for Year 2, the children wrote letters to a Penpal in Year 2 this week. They started the letter writing about themselves then thinking about questions that they would like to ask.

Do you learn History?
Are you allowed to play outside?
Do you have fruit?

Maths

This week in Math, children have been revisiting Addition and Subtraction. They have been completing words problems which has been tricky but they were asked to highlight the important parts of the questions and read the words carefully to know what to do. Is it addition or Subtraction?
