Year 1 - What we have been learning/Sports day

Another great week in year 1. Our children have really been working hard, even though we only have a few short weeks left

Sports Day!

Thank you to all the parents that attended our sports day on Monday. The children behaved fantastically and it was great to see that so many children were getting involved. It was very unfortunate that that the weather was not on out side but thankfully the children only had 2 races to go!

We really hoped you enjoyed cheering the children on!

Forest School
Walnut Class enjoyed Forest School this week, they used clay, stick and different materials to make small models.

Literacy
To help the children prepare for Year 2, the children wrote letters to a Penpal in Year 2 this week. They started the letter writing about themselves then thinking about questions that they would like to ask.

Do you learn History?
Are you allowed to play outside?
Do you have fruit?

Maths

This week in Math, children have been revisiting Addition and Subtraction. They have been completing words problems which has been tricky but they were asked to highlight the important parts of the questions and read the words carefully to know what to do. Is it addition or Subtraction?
