Year 2 What We Are Learning

 

                                                                   

                                                         Literacy

This week, the children had the opportunity to write a diary entry

in the role of one of the characters in their focus text, Vlad and

The Great Fire of London. They wrote in the past tense

and used amazing adjectives to engage their audience.

Math

In Math, pupils were able to recall their number bonds to 10 and complete addition problems involving bonds to 10. Also, they have looked at fact families and used part-whole models to complete any fact families consisting of two digit numbers.  

                                                                            Forest School

This morning Pine class had their final session in this block of forest school. We enjoyed toasting waffles and marshmallows over the fire and drinking hot chocolate. We sung some campfire songs and played games. There was lots of fun all round.

History 

This week in history we have been looking at the consequences of the Great Fire of London. 

We looked at how people would have been affected including not having a place to live or food to eat.
