Year 1 in Action March 2023

 


Year 1 in Action March 2023 



In Apricot class the children have been enjoying building brilliant bridges in the Construction Area. They also made lots of different roads that all of their many vehicles could travel around on. In the Reading Area there was lots of super reading as the children took part in role play by dressing up as superheroes and reading their favourite books whilst dressed up as them! Apricot class has also been getting green fingered recently. They used rakes and other gardening tools to plant lots of different fruits, vegetables and plants outside in our Year 1 garden area. Apricot class also enjoyed making fruit smoothies. They used fruit, cups and cutting resources to cut the fruit and squeeze the juice to make delicious fruit smoothies. Well done Apricot class you have been working super hard!


In Beech class the children have been getting artistic creating lots of amazing arts and crafts. They have been enjoying junk modelling - making fabulous pieces of art out of recycled household objects. Beech class has been making brilliant towers and car parks in the Construction Area. They have also loved gardening and making fruit smoothies. Well done Beech class - keep up the good work!


In Walnut class the children have been working hard on their fine motor skills by completing lots of finger gym activities. They have also been making lots of amazing shapes. Walnut class also have been getting creative in their Arts and Crafts Area. They have also loved role playing as ‘Teachers’ this week. Walnut class have been role playing teaching Read, Write Inc lessons to their peers. They also made delicious fruit smoothies this week. Well done Walnut class!


Year 1 have been working super hard, well done everyone, keep up the brilliant work!



Junk Modelling and Home Corner Resources:


If any parents have any recycled household objects that we could use for junk modelling in our Art Areas please bring them in. Thank you so much!
