Good Morning Year 2,
We are very proud of you all for all of your work last week! We know it isn't always easy but every day we are seeing more of you submitting work and attending our live sessions, we love seeing your faces and have been so impressed with your super behaviour and amazing ideas so make sure you keep attending!
Here is the timetable for next week:
We are continuing with division, remember this builds up over time so if you are finding it hard go back to last week to help you understand. This week we are looking at Zog in Literacy, another one of our favourite Julia Donaldson stories!
Live sessions
It is so lovely to see all of your faces and hear all of your ideas in our lessons. We will continue with Literacy sessions on Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 am. On Monday and Wednesday we will also be live at 9:30 am for an overview of our tasks and day. There will be story or class game/social sessions at 2:30 every day.
You will also have reading sessions or phonics sessions and possibly other sessions if a teacher has spoken to you. Please keep us informed if you have any issues attending these! Keep checking the stream for any reminders :)
Resources
We are trying to keep what you need to a minimum so generally lessons will only require a pencil or paper to complete. For topic lessons you can use Miss Tynan's example for Geography but you might want to start collecting and looking closely at your own food packaging. For Art you will also need a pencil/paper and if you have a piece of fruit or vegetable please bring this too! There is a cooking idea for Wednesday but this is only a suggestion and you could definitely save this for another week, so don't feel like you have to go and buy ingredients!
Independence
As always the timetable can be flexible so please adapt to your needs. Can we please request that children complete the literacy by hand (using pencil/pen and paper), unless they are really good at typing independently. The children are at an important stage we they are developing their handwriting skills and ability to write in sentences so it helps us support this. We really, really appreciate all the help you are giving them but remember they should always be working harder than you and in school they would be expected to work with some independence. We want to be marking children's work and giving them tips so resit the urge to complete tasks for them. We will be on hand if you are finding this hard but please encourage them to try on their own this week, we will do the same in our sessions with them.
We hope you have a lovely week. Remember we are here to help you, please do email year12@broadford.havering.sch.uk if you would like any help or have any questions.
