Week 3 home learning - Year Two
Good morning,
We hope Week 3 Home learning finds you all well.
As we shared last week, to make things as easy to manage as possible, we have organised the learning into a daily timetable. You can choose to follow it, or dip in and out as it suits you. Each day there will be a maths, literacy, PE, foundation subject, creative activity and wellness session.
This week our literacy focus is based on our class text, The Adventures of The Egg Box Dragon.

Spellings
We will continue to blog spellings each week and a link will be released each Friday,
where a member of our Year Two team will read out the spellings for the children.
Reading
Oxford Owl reading website are offering free access to their books online. The children will be familiar with these books as it is already part of our readings scheme. Children learning to blend and read simple words such as ‘cat’ or ‘went will be learning Set 1 sounds
and reading Ditty or red books.

Reading to children is still really important. If you are struggling to access books at home Cbeebies have a daily bed time story.Try to watch this with your child and talk about what happened after:

One of our very talented Teaching Assistants, Mr Maher, has created a reading site for the children to use as part of their home reading. The site is based on animals and has some great photos and facts.
There is also some quizzes the children can take part in.

and they are also stuck into the back of children’s reading records. All children have been assigned tasks for this week. Please refer to the ‘Mathletics Getting Started Guide’ in your stay at home learning packs for support in accessing this.
