Tick tock, tick tock.... Maths lessons in Y2

In year 2, the children have been learning about time in Maths. The children have been making their own clocks to help them. Now the class can tell you about what an analogue clock looks like, what each part is for, the differences between analogue and digital times and they can tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes, using their 5x tables to help them! Some of the children have also been answering time word problems as part of their weekly jobs!

"The minute hand is the long hand" Nathan
"When the minute hand is on the 5, a quick way to work out the minutes is times by 5, so now I know it is 25 minutes past" Sophie
"The short hand tells us the hour" George
"I have been matching up the analogue times to the digital times" Jacob
"There are 60 seconds in one minute!" Alfie
