Taste the rainbow for healthy eating week!

As part of Healthy Eating Week, Year One got to try a variety of fresh local and exotic fruits. They talked about how to describe the fruits using their senses to help them. They have also written about what would make a healthy meal and then created their own ideal balanced meal.

The blueberries were sweet, squishy and dark blue! Temilola
We were given a mystery fruit to guess- it tasted sour. Tyler
I guessed the mystery fruit- it was lime. It was a pale green colour inside. Tiggy
I loved the oranges and strawberries the most because they were sweet. Sophie

The children have been learning about the importance of hydration and getting a range of nutrients from their food. Children can keep hydrated through their food and other drinks- particularly important in our recent hot weather!

See the poster below to find out more about healthy hydration.
