Summer Fun in Year One

This morning, the children in Year One have been showing off their 4R skills outside during independent choice time. The children have been making dens to give them lots of shelter from the sun and spent lots of time working together in the water area and sand pit. They have been making castles with moats, racing tracks, potions and recipes! They have showed they can work collaboratively in order to achieve a desired outcome and they have shown great resourcefulness in order to make their ideas come to life.

I made a den using the blocks and then used the material to keep it cool. Its from angry birds. I worked with Freddie and Charlie. Peter
We are making a really tall castle and we want to see how tall we can get the sand. Finley
'Does it keep falling, what could you do to make the sand a bit more sturdy?' We could add some water to make it stick better and make it stronger! Alfie.
We've created a cat walk- watch us! Jolene and Sophie (and team!)
