Fire station visit

This morning the children in year 2 were lucky enough to visit our local Fire Station. We learned all about the different aspects of their job including; rescuing horses from mud, putting out fires and cutting people out of cars!

This is related to our topic which at the moment is focused on The Great fire of London. We learnt about the capacity of the fire engine in relation to water and discussed how this was not a luxury the people in 1666 would have had! Children have realised how lucky we are to have such a brilliant Fire service.
