Walnut - Forest School 07.02.2025

This week at Forest School Walnut class listened to a story about a little boy called Olli, who made an amazing mud pie for his family. Sadly, Olli was very disappointed when they didn’t like it, but when he came back the next day, his mud pie was gone. He was happy to discover that, although his family hadn’t liked his mud pie, all the mini beasts in the forest had eaten it all up.

The children then made their own mud pies for the mini beasts using mud, water, sticks, stones, leaves and any other natural things they could find.

The children also made big art together by brushing powder paint onto wet sheets. This created a lovely colourful effect.

We finished the session by playing a few ‘Catch the tail.’

We are very lucky that we didn’t get the downpour that was forecasted, but the weather was very cold.  Unfortunately, some children were uncomfortable as they were feeling cold. Please send in lots of extra layers (base layers, extra jumpers,  wool hats, gloves, etc.) I typically wear at least four layers on my top half, three layers on my bottom half and 2 or 3 pairs of socks.
