Year 1: What We Are Learning

Year 1: What We Are Learning

Year 1 have been working really hard this week.

In Literacy this week the children have written letters to Mrs Nicholls explaining how they will look after the school and keep it clean and tidy. They also wrote their very own book reviews.

The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. Please continue to read with your children and work on their Spellings with them. Please remember to sign your child's Reading Record Book.

In Maths this week the children have worked hard to find half of different quantities using a range of resources in Maths.

In Science the children learnt all about our five senses and went on a senses walk. We discussed what they could see, hear, smell and touch outside.

Well done Year 1 for an amazing week - keep up all your brilliant work!

Continuous Provision

Year one have had another term filled with exciting learning opportunities within the provision. All children have had the opportunity to engage in activities that enhance and consolidate many different skills throughout the day. Continuous provision helps to solidify their learning, promote prior knowledge, and encourage active and independent learners. As well as building their subject knowledge, the provision helps to promote children's social and emotional skills, which prepares them for life outside of the classroom!

The provision is carefully planned by the class teachers and offer various levels of challenge and critical thinking. It is well known that Continuous Provision, is the second teacher in the classroom!
