Well Done to all the children that have completed the Phonic Screening check, the children defiantly worked hard and tried their best. Now it is time for us to get ready for out Fantastic Scrumdidiumptious topic. This week the children had a trip to Lidl where they choose what they would like on top of their cakes. The choices of toppings are delicious!
Walk to Lidl
This week we walked to Lidl and the children enjoyed picking out their cake toppings, as well as using the checkout to purchase what they had chosen.
Maths
Money! Money! Money
This week we have been learning about money. Year 1 have been learning about the different coins and there value. Does the bigger the coin mean that is it the most money? We have been labeling the coins but also identifying when an amount is pence or pounds. Maybe you could let your children use money when visiting the local shop?
Science
This week we have been continuing with our new topic Plants. Children in Apricot Class created and labelled the features of a plant by using cupcake cases, pipe cleaners and wool.
ICT
Children have been exploring the Ipads this week, using different QR codes to access Phonics, math's and painting games.
