Year 2 sculpture workshop.

Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed designing, making, bashing, bending and twisting materials during the sculpture workshop.

In the morning Cedar made their own designs and mounded them onto metal.

First they designed their ideas:

Then they created the first stage of the sculpture by bending and cutting strong wire:

Then they prepared their metal plate by smoothing off the ends:

Then the bashing began! 

The children made some beautiful sculptures:

Next they began to build an igloo:

Once Cedar had assembled the igloo shell, it was Cherry's turn.. 

Cherry also drew their design then applied the metal to make their plates. 

They used a hammer to bash the metal until their image showed: 

They then practised using cable ties to ensure they were securing them correctly:

Finally they attached silver tape and their metal plates to the construction!
