In science this week we continued our learning about senses by learning about our sense of taste!
We learned that we have five different types of taste buds - salty, sour, bitter, sweet and umami. Although they are too small for us to see properly with our eyes, we learned that there are an incredible 3,000 taste buds on our tongue!
We did a blind tasting test to explore the different tastes and textures of foods.
Deborah had an unpleasant shock when she tasted the tomato and thought it was "squishy and disgusting"! She pulled a very funny face but she did manage to eat her tomato.
However, it's perhaps not too surprising that everyone thought the chocolate was delicious!
