Location, Location, Location

Pine and Mulberry are finding out about our local area and comparing it to other locations this half term. Last week we looked at our school and discussed the improvements that had been made recently. We wrote letters home and thought of questions we could ask parents to find out about how their schools were different.

Today we walked around Harold Hill and thought about the houses and important places we could see on the way. We walked past buildings like My Place and Central Park leisure Centre and lots of the children spoke about going to dancing and swimming lessons here. We discovered that most houses in this area are terraced and walked past all the new flats being built. We saw lots of important shops at Hildene like a grocers, hairdressers and small food shops. Weronika spotted a Polish shop and we spoke about why this would be important in Harold Hill. After a long walk we stopped at the park for strawberries and some water. Finally we played on the equipment for a little while and walked back to school!
