Year 2 Awards

Zach showed his reflectiveness during a science lesson where he discussed his previous knowledge about animals with his partner. 


The resilience award this week goes to: Amedea

These children have demonstrated perseverance, managed distractions, noticed patterns and been absorbed in their tasks.



The resourcefulness award this week goes to:  Vanessa 



These pupils have been curious about their learning, made links between ideas, shown imagination, reasoned methodically and capitalised on resources.

Sofia, Ahmad and Harrie have all made their teacher happy because they have made fantastic progress in their reading!





Year 2 What We Are Learning

                                  


   Literacy

In Literacy,  pupils described a  settings such

as a forest using adjectives

and expanded noun phrases.




  Maths


This week the children have been introduced to

multiplication. 

We have been exploring how to identify and

make equal groups. 

The children have ensured to use key vocabulary and

 sentence stems. For example, there are

4 equal groups of 2, 

there are 8 counters altogether. 



                                                              

History













 This week the children learnt about Rosa Parks and what

 was life like for people of colour. Children discussed what

 might have caused Rosa Park to want to make changes

 in the society she lived in her days.

Year 1 Awards

E for Excellence


Apricot:.Emir 

Emir is working hard in literacy and math. He is very good at proofreading and checking his work to make sure his answers are correct. 



Beech: Lama 

For working hard in Literacy to write in past tense and include adjectives. Keep up the good work 



Walnut: Abdullah

Abdullah has been making careful choices in class, he is sharing and turn-taking with more independence and learning the skills to problem solve. Well done Abdullah, keep up the fantastic work!




  Star Writers 

Apricot: Prakhyati 

Prakhyati has been putting in lots of effort and time into her writing. She enjoys writing independently and is happy to make any changes to her spelling or grammar. 



Beech:  Emir 

For working hard in Phonics to include set 2 and 3 sounds in his writing and independently editing his work. Well done Emir, you are working extremely hard.  



Walnut: Freya

Freya has been writing with more independence, she is now more confident in sounding out cvc words and learning familiar red words. Well done Freya, keep this up!

These are the key skills that our children will need to learn effectively in class and to be successful later in life. 


Reciprocity

These children have shown interdependence, collaborated effectively, listened to others, displayed empathy and have imitated effective  ideas and methods from others. 


Issac and Aadvik for creating a shape maths challenge and encouraging the children in Beech class to complete it 


Reflectiveness 

These pupils have planned carefully, revised ideas, identified key features and can talk about their learning.

These children have demonstrated perseverance, managed distractions, noticed patterns and been absorbed in.


Eliza - Eliza continues to show resilience by managing distractions around her. Eliza sits independently to write and produces great work and beautiful



Resourcefulness

These children have used the resources in the classroom and outside to plan, design and create marvellous creations.


Aarav- For using the resources in class to make super art work. Aarav has also been using the skills we have practised in art to create his own watercolor painting. Excellent Aarav, keep it up!

and has been trying really hard to apply her
sounds to her writing this week. Well done!

week. Dominic worked very hard to state
the different ways that Martin Luther
King Jr. fought for equality.
