Stories and books are incredibly important skill for so many reasons so we couldn't let World Book Day pass without a celebration of all things books! So have a look through your story books and start designing your best costume, you can get creative and use all kinds of props in your home for this. If you are at home send us your pictures on google classroom and if you are in school wear your costumes to school this day. World Book Day is on Thursday 4th March.
Remember World Book Day is all about stories and how important they are to us. Make sure you keep finding time to read and share your favourite books. The magic of books means that even when we are stuck at home we can travel to other places through the pages of our favourite stories.
EYFS/KS1 Challenge
Watch Miss Tynan's video and see if you can create your own story based on this. Depending on your age you can ask a grown up to video your story, draw your story or write your story. Add them to your google classroom assignment or if you are in Nursery/Reception you can upload them to Evidence Me. We can't wait to hear the results!
KS2 Challenge
We have some short poems you can choose from to read. Watch Michael Rosen's top-tips for performing here . Set that video camera up and choose a section to perform for us! You can add them to the assignment on google classroom.Remember to check your Google Classroom and guess who the Masked Reader's are in your Year group! Your teachers have been joining in too.
Creative Ideas
Design a 'Book-in-a-Box'.
Step 1. Choose a book that you have enjoyed
Step 2. Find an empty box - shoe box, cardboard box anything will work!
Step 3. Think about the setting of the story and get creative
