In Year 2 the children have been looking at the chronology of castles. They were given pictures to look at and discuss together what features they could see. Then they had to decide where in history they thought the castles belonged, using the knowledge and facts they have been learning this term. The children have been very excited to learn about how to defend and attack a castle and they will be able to tell you all about the different parts of a castle and what they are used for.
"This is a Motte and Bailey because it is mostly made of wood" Maisie
"This is the Norman Keep. It is made of stone and it has towers and battlements but it doesn't have the extra walls" Jacob
"The concentric castle has extra walls and it is very big. You need a lot of money to make it." Tyler
