Super Sophia's Finger Gym

Super Sophia's Finger Gym

In all classroom across EYFS and KS1, there are Finger Gym stations with activities that change weekly. The finger gyms work as a fun way to support and promote better hand-eye co-ordinations, differentiated movement and manual dexterity. It helps develop to develop strong, flexible fingers, hands and arms, supporting the children in their writing.

Last week in out woodwork area, Sophia from Rowan Class decided to create an activity for our finger gym table, she designed and created the activity herself, using nails, buttons and wood.

When Sophia had finished creating it, she ashed for some loom bands and the it was ready to go.

'you need to use the loom bands to make different patterns.

You can make patterns using colours or you can create shapes with the bands'

Sophia Heron, Rowan Class

The children loved the activity and it has inspired others to do the same.

Well done, Sophia!
