Visit from the London Fire Brigade.

This morning the children in Cherry had a visit from Dawn, an education officer from the London Fire Brigade.
She taught the children the importance of fire safety within the home and what to do if there were a fire. Children discussed touching the handle with the back of their hand; crawling under the smoke so they don't choke and to stay calm when in the building. Once outisde and safe the children know to shout "FIRE!!" and ask somebody to dial 999.

The children understand the importance of checking fire alarms and know they need to practise their fire plan at home so brace yourselves for a trail run tonight!
