Continuing our learning about Africa as part of our safari topic, Mulberry thought about what toys might be like for children who live in parts of Africa. They might live in houses where there is no electricity to run a computer, and there might not be a shop for them to visit to buy toys.
One of our favourite games is football, and we found out lots of children in Africa love football too! Some children in Africa can't afford to buy plastic or leather footballs so they make them by tying together recycled plastic and paper. Working in teams we tried to make recycled footballs ourselves. Ketty and Deborah showed a great deal of reciprocity and worked together wonderfully to make their football. After our footballs were completed we tried playing with them... Some of the footballs didn't last very long!
