Take a look at the children's catapults they made before half term. They had previously designed their catapult and justified their reasons for their choices. They demonstrated fantastic reciprocity to fix the materials together. We are now looking forward to testing them to see which ones perform the best...

Cherry earn their yummy cake!
Well done to Cherry class who successfully wrote persuasive letters in order to win a cupcake party.
The children used persuasive language and gave many reasons why they deserved it.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their reward, keep up the good work!

Medieval day in Cedar.
We had great fun in our Medieval day. We dressed up as knights and had a go at jousting. We talked about a castles defences, building a strong castle. Then used a trebuchet to knock the castle down. A fun day !

Cherry Medieval workshop from Sir Teachalot!
Mulberry visit the farm!
Mulberry were lucky enough to visit the farm when it came to school on Monday. We met Dingle the Shetland pony who was 30 years old! We thought he was looking very good for his age. Fallon Sharpe said that Dingle must be a mammal because he was covered in fur. Jaydon Holloway made great use of his knowledge about birds when discussing ducks and turkeys, commenting that they must be birds because only birds have feathers. During our discussion after the visit Ronnie Mersh said that he had seen another mammal - the farmer!
Mulberry Code Magical Cities
In Year 1 we have been learning how to write simple codes. We have learned how to code start events and click events, and during our lesson we were able to combine these to make a city scene.
We also learned how to draw things in the background of our screen. Steven Davenport made very imaginative use of this new skill to draw Sponge Bob Square Pants in the background of his city!
